Comment: I bought this book as a present for my husband, who is an artist. He is beginning work on a series of fairy tale pieces. He said the book is absolutely perfect. It is a large volume, with high quality binding and printing, and showcases many of James Jean's masterpieces.

Comment: I just purchased this book and now I am here to rave about how perfect it truly is. If you are inspired by James' art then you will love this compilation of Fable covers and spreads.
Each piece is accompanied by anywhere from 1-5 prelim sketches and process shots. You finally get to see his creative process and a high quality original without FABLE or any barcodes slapped across it. Beautifully printed and accompanied by a little info on medium as well as a quote from each issue to help you understand a little about the illustration. By far my favorite book of 2008 no doubt. James Jean is a master of fine arts and needs to be treated as such, well worth the money.

Summary: Beautiful book - a must have for James Jean (& Fables) fans.
Comment: It took me a while to get it, but yesterday it finally arrived. This book is a wonder, it's nice and big, nice weight, excellent printing, colors, and paper quality. It looks so good, it's almost as if I had the original art in my hand. So there you have it: ever since I first read Fables, James Jean entered my list of favorite illustrators/artists, and by purchasing this book I hope I'm honoring his brilliant art (and contributing a bit to his pockets!)

Summary: That's the way I like it
Comment: Beautiful edition. The quality of paper/hard cover is just great. Stiched all together very solid so it wont fall apart just by turning pages. As for the content, everything is just as I expected -great reproductions of Jean's original art with small versions of initial sketches and in-progress phases included. Plus Interview with James as a bonus. Simply must-have for every illutration fan (not mentioning James Jean fans).
