The R.H. Forschner collection has grown in size and stature since its name was first carved in steel in 1855. Historically a premier choice of culinary professionals, it is still preferred by professionals today.
Renowned for its extremely sharp, Swiss made, steel blades from Victorinox, R.H. Forschner provides professionals in food processing and preparation with superior quality, value-priced cutlery that enhances performance and increases productivity. They are manufactured in Switzerland. The renowned rosewood handles feature a carved handle design with the unique beauty of natural rosewood and are extra durable. The fibrox handles feature a non slip, ergonomic design and are NSF approved. The blades feature a high-carbon no stain steel with the unique Victorinox polished surface and a taper ground edge.
**The NSF mark is a certification of quality assurance and hygienic design. The National Sanitation Foundation mark is proudly carried on all R.H. Forschner blades with a fibrox or nylon handle and assures you of quality and assurance to use in a commercial environment. Look for this mark. Realize that most manufacturers do not carry this seal!

Customer Rating: Summary: Chef's Quality, Amateur's Price! Comment: I have been cooking now for about 40 years. (Can't believe it's been that long)... In all of these years I have yearned for a decent set of knives, but shuddered when I would see the prices. These knives are awesome! I am so pleased with their super sharp blades. With a little tender care, these knives will give me slicing pleasure (if there is such a thing) for the rest of my life. Do yourself a favor, get some decent knives! If you are on a budget and love to cook, these knives are the answer for you. A+++
Customer Rating: Summary: Husband Loves Them Comment: I bought these as a gift for my husband who is our house chef, and he is over the moon. He loves the sharpness, the feel, and the weight. In preparing every meal, I hear him making positive comments about these knives. Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good value! Comment: Would have liked a nicer storage box or sleeves for the blades, but the knives are wonderful.
Customer Rating: Summary: Stop reading and buy them. Comment: The Chef's knife is great. 10 inches seemed unwieldly in theory, but is soooo useful in practice.
I use the slicing knife all the time. I used it for about 3 hours straight while breaking down 4 sides of venison and couldn't have asked for more.
The paring knife fits well in my hand and is nimble enough to section citrus precisely or peel an apple.
I love these knives. They have replaced a whole block of knives that we received as a wedding gift. Buy them already.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent affordable knife set Comment: R.H. Forschner by Victorinox are great knives. There are plenty of chef-grade knives (such as Global, WÜSTHOF or other), but unless you are a chef or someone for whom the sky is the limit when it comes to your kitchen, these knives are fine. Most of us cannot afford to stock our kitchens with "the best." Finding very good quality that is affordable versus professional quality that requires a second mortgage works for most of us.
These would make a great house warming present.
