Summary: nice beginner-to-intermediate keyboard
Comment: I chose the The Casio CTK-800 because I liked its ergonomics/button design better than the smilar Yamaha models. I also think it looks better too. But I don't like that the volume control is a small, hard-to-grasp slider, rather than a knob. The knob you see is for the microphone. At first I didn't like the silver color but I gotta admit it grew on me.

This keyboard has tons of good and realistic sounds (voices). Most of the voices are of traditional or orchestral instruments, though there is a decent/half-decent selection of electronic, futuristic, and fantasy sounds. And a few weird ones like a helicopter and a ringing telephone. 32-note polyphony is great, even if it's overkill. The built-in metronome is handy. The ability to record your playing and then play over top of it is also nice, but I don't know if you can save your recording after the keyboard has been turned off. Many other features I haven't tried yet.

Hook it up to a sound system with a good subwoofer, and you might be surprised by the depth, punch, and tightness of the bass. It makes even the built-in songs exciting to listen to. You can configure the keys to play different drum sounds, and it gave me an introduction to playing drums - within the limitations of playing on keys.

Summary: Piano Lessons
Comment: Aloha, Amazon Shoppers,

The Casio CTK800, is an awesome purchase. Not only does the keyboard itself give me lessons, the teacher had said, that I made a good purchase. Even just listening to the pre recorded songs is enjoyable. The price is right, the qaulity is high. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Summary: Great for the all around player
Comment: I purchased the Casio CTK800 keyboard recently
and I got what I'd expected. What attracted me
to this board was the touch response feature
and 32-polyphony. The sound quality is crisp n'clear,
and for those new to the instrument, there's a
musical staff on the sleek blue lit-display screen.
The built in metronome is also welcome.

Pros: Touch sensitive keys allow you to trill,
classical style. High quality sound, a wealth
of voices to choose from. Quite versatile.
Good for the price.

Cons: No adapter! Why Casio, why!
The built-in "learning" system is a joke
it's better to learn how to sight read, or sign
up for lessons.) Will not satisfy the grand piano
fanatics, lack of 88 keys and weighted action (which is understandable, given that
this is a $160 odd keyboard.)
