High Quality Europe adapter features a molded (no screws) high quality design that holds up better than cheaper adapter plugs found elsewhere and is rated for maximum 8 Amp current at 240 volts. This European adapter is tested and approved Conformité Européenne. Polarized USA to continental Europe adapter accepts the wide flat American appliance plug. You need the wide input for all American appliances and to enhance the safety of the connection.
Note: Adapters do not convert electricity/voltage they only modify the pins for the electrical outlet. Ensure that your appliances can operate on European 240 volt outlets. You may need a voltage converter if your travel appliance is not dual voltage and be sure to check its wattage.

Summary: watchout with the rounded edges!
Comment: I bought a dozen of these to use in a house that I am renting in Spain. The rounded edges on this adapter cause the plug to NOT FIT INTO ANY of the wall outlets or sockets or extension cords . When you are able to jam them into a socket they tend to get loose quickly. It's also an ugly brown color that looks bad in most white and off white sockets. I ended up throwing them all away. Very dissapointed.

Summary: False advertisement, i.e. "Continental Europe"
Comment: The product allegedly works all over Continental Europe, with a long list of qualifying countries, including Austria, given in the description. But when I took this adapter plug to Europe, it did not fit the outlet designs at my hotels in Salzburg or Vienna. It also failed in Prague--I'll let that slide, however, since the Czech Republic wasn't specifically advertised. Worked like a charm in Venice, though!

Comment: i bought 3 of these since they were cheap, and it's a good thing i did since they're also cheaply made. one of them broke on the first day of my week long trip and another one broke before the week was over. the price should have been an indicator of the workmanship but i'm a sucker for a bargain I guess :-)
