Customer Rating: Summary: Great little camera! Comment: Bought this camera so I could let my students use it and not worry about them damaging an expensive school camera. I liked it so much that I'm also using it for my own pics!
Easy to use, multiple settings, great pics for the price. Highly recommend this camera.
Customer Rating: Summary: Argus QC 5150 5xDigital Camera Comment: WOW! Lot of bang for the buck. This is one simple easy to use point & shoot camera with neat features that give great results for the everyday photo buff person. The resolution and focus is very good for this 5x megapixel with 8x zoom, as is the lighting adjustment. Everything works great, as does the movies & sound for some neat small movie clips. Switching back and forth from video to picture modes to playback is a breeze. The photo quality is just amazing for a camera this small, and the options for setting the type of pictures is so simple. This is not a top of the line ""professional use camera"", but it does give some very pleasing results to capture those everyday memories.
To test this camera, I took photos from night time televison, zoomed in for a close up from a range of 10 feet and got results that appeared as if the person was standing in front of my face. No flash back from the indoor flash, no red eye, just a great clear photo with good color.
There is no view finder to look through to capture your shot, you must line up your photo with the LCD screen on the back of the camera. I find this much easier to do than with the traditional view finder because I wear glasses and always had a hard time looking through all that glass anyway. This way you can more easily see what will be in your photo. If you do not like the result, you can crop the photo edges right inside the camera, or delete the shot, before you download or print out the final photos, another neat freature on this little inexpensive camera that helps give some high quality output.
Compared to a 35mm film camera, you will see the difference in saving money on developing all those rolls of film, not in loss of your picture quality, and you will save money by not having to constantly buy more rolls of film to load into your camera.
The camera is not a battery hog like most models can be. Just buy a little rechargeable battery set with it's own charger and you'll get lots of shots as it uses only 2 AA batteries.
You can print photos directly to your printer, or save them to your computer disc and print them later. How easy is that?
I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants to keep things ""simple"" but get good results that look great.
Customer Rating: Summary: For the money, fantastic! Comment: Being cheap (err, I mean, having an eye for bargains) I looked for the cheapest but best-reviewed digital camera I could find and settled on this one. I took the leap of faith and ordered it. For the money, it's great. I see no reason to go buy a different make and model, as all I do is take snapshots. Caveat is that there is a hidden cost (as is so for other digital cameras as well)-- the SD card. I already had a spare 256 MB SD card at home so I didn't have to pay more to buy one. But if you plan on taking more than 10 snaps in a session before DLing them to your PC or erasing them, you'll need an SD card. They run $20-$40 for a 256 MB card, FYI. But all told, it is quite worth the money, and you'd need an SD card anyway for another model (or else you'll pay for all that extra "built-in memory").
Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is this: it's a little too easy to erase all the pictures you just took. There should be more of a challenge to this action (voice of experience talking here). Also, the buttons on the camera that do various things could be a wee bit more intuitive. But other than those two peeves, it's a winner.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or money Comment: This camera doesn't take pictures well at all, except if what you are shooting isn't near any sunlight(white out), or moving at all (totally blurry). Please look elsewhere for a digital camera.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ok Comment: this camera does take great pictures, but the video only works outside. it feels kind of cheap but is very easy to use. i havent haD Any problems with it. its nice and small, but the zoom doesnt work very well, the picture gets very blurry. overall good though.
