Customer Rating: Summary: Comfortable, affordable, sweet Comment: I received this product as a gift. I sleep with headphones on to listen to music and find myself tangled in the night. The Jabra BT620s solves that problem. The headset is not adjustable, but it is comfortable. It comes with an AC charger, USB charging cable, carrying sack and extra foam covers for each ear (an unexpected but welcomed bonus). After charging the product, I paired it with my iPaq 111 PDA and my enV2 cell phone. It paired flawlessly. I was instantly able to listen to music and movies from the PDA. I've not yet tested sound quality and distance.
The large sides of each ear piece are actually buttons. This posed a problem for me in bed at night as I sleep on my side. With this in mind, the left side is the on/off button which is very easily pressed with the pressure of my head against the pillow. Not, horrible, but unexpected. Keep this in mind if you intend to use this head set in any application in which the side of the headset could be pressed against.
The other feature I noticed was that the volume control was controlled exclusively by the headset, once it was connected with the PDA. This may pose a problem for those who tend to use amplification plugins on their PDAs.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great 4 PS3!!! Comment: I bought a set specifically for my PS3 and online gaming/chatting, and I must say they work great. I get no interference noise, people can hear me clearly with no static and the best part is that they stay paired. I had a moto bluetooth(non-stereo) that I had to reconnect everytime before I jumped into a game of COD.
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing Overall Comment: # Here is a short review for those in a rush: may break easily, sound quality is just passable, disconnects frequently, not user friendly unless you memorize all the blink codes (but even then would you see the blinking if you are wearing the headset ;P). Advice: avoid this purchase and try a different brand/product.
# ...and here is the extended review for those with a couple of minutes more:
Overall, the headphones sort of work (same can't really be said about the headset at least in my case) unfortunately the drawbacks are so many you may want to look elsewhere. The lowering price tag may suggest that not many people are buying them and those who tested them are probably those who are now selling them as used on amazon and ebay. Consider this: even if they were selling cheap they are still not worth your time and disappointment.
So that said let's look at the Pros and Cons of this product.
Pros: (hard to find many)
- this headset/headphones do not feel too flimsy and cheap... except for the headband behind, which some users have reported breaking every 2-3 months of use "even if you baby it"... and like a user said: "I bought them in January, and by April, the headset snapped right off the ear, rendering them useless." A statement that is not too reassuring despite they did give me the "not extremely cheap" feel.
- The look is decent, not elegant, but decent... obviously that is only if you have managed to turn off the constant blinking lights (via software or hardware mod) since going around with your ears flashing away, this headphone will make you like a fool, rather than cool :)
- They work with Mac (as headphones, headset quality is unusable), I tested them under OS X 10.5 at least
Cons: (Besides the blue blinking lights I just mentioned)
- The headphone is a bit heavy (most likely due to the Li-Ion battery) therefore after wearing it for long periods of time you will start feeling the discomfort around your hears
- Headset quality is terrible. When paired with a computer The using the headset profile, the sampling rate of the audio signal is set at 8000k and although that should be enough the quality of the audio signal is unacceptable
- Headset mode: talking into the microphone while paired with a computer the party I was on audio chat with couldn't hear a thing (hence microphone is useless)
- Headset mode: while paired with a cellphone, the microphone is too low and the caller could barely hear me talking (had to disconnect and call back
- Headset mode: microphone gain/level can't be adjusted
- Headphones mode: quality of the stereo signal, although usable, is less than desirable
- Headphones mode: when paired with a computer ,some of the audio streaming to the headphones speeds up or slows down the tempo of the tune which also was changing the pitch by about +/-1 note. (note: the shift in speed sounds like when a 45 rpm record is being played without its specific adapter and the disk is not perfectly centered causing the Phono cartridge ro cyclically speed-up and slow-down (I wonder if anyone has ever tried it, that's a "trick" DJs are still using in performances as an effect.) The speed/slow down of the bluetooth stream is not cyclical but random.
- Random disconnections while audio is playing even if I am in front of my computer!
- Extremely Limited range while paired with a computer: about 10-15 feet away the connection is lost
- Extremely Limited range while paired with the Jabra A125s Bluetooth iPod Adapter (which has its own flows as well) connection is frequently lost between the iPod sitting in the pocket of my jacket and the headphones... in case you were wondering, my jacket is a plain black polyester winter jacket, it's not made of lead :)
- Not user friendly: like amazon reviewers mentioned "remembering what turns it on, what starts/pauses, what pairs, what starts a call, etc., was harder to remember. I had to pull out the manual." or "To use it to it's full capacity, you must learn to speak LED blink, even with the book"...I know it will not help, but guys... you are not alone! And just as a curiosity... if one is wearing them what's the use of having codes in the blinking since one will not be able to see those blinks! May they should have just used different beep sounds like they are now to let you know that the headphones powered on or off... all other beeps have the same sound
- Pairing headphones is always a gamble, despite my blackjack or Mac always detect even the neighbors' bluetooth devices, when it comes to the Jabra headphones sometimes they can be seen and sometimes they can't
- Charge time is quite long, definitely longer than battery autonomy, which isn't very long (couple of hours of continuous audio playback)
- Volume needs improvement. In the subway or on the street if it gets even a bit loud you would not hear music or calls
- When receiving a call the headset would stop playing the music you were listening to and lets the call through, but upon hanging up, the music playback is not resumed
I may be forgetting some issues but I believe that should be enough of a review reporting Pros and Cons, and given the many problems, I am pretty hopeful that amazon (and not) shoppers will in the end opt to save their money and skip the purchase. Hopefully someone at Jabra will read this review and maybe will take all those issues into account before releasing the next headphones/headset avoiding to put on the market a poorly tested product which in the end all it does is to give the brand a bad image since wastes people's money and an often even more valuable asset: time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good product...Good deal Comment: I bought them for myself but I would say they are made for a man's head
size. I couldn't find any way to wear them comfortably. The sound is great
and my boyfriend ended up with a nice pair of headphones.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not dependable Comment: It's great when it works, but that's the problem. I can get it to work very easily with my Smartphone, BUT getting it to work with my laptop PC is another question. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I ALWAYS have to "re-pair" it when I use it with my PC if I hope to have any chance to get it to work.
