Summary: haven't recieved them yet?
Comment: i ordered them in september with 3 to 4 weeks shipping, it's now been 8 weeks and i'm told another 2 months . this is not very nice!

Summary: Awesome starter set!!!
Comment: First of all this price is great for how good of a set this is. The set is easy to set up and it comes with everything you need to get started including a chair, head phones, and drum sticks. If you are wanting to learn how to play the drums but don't want to make a ton of noise this is the perfect set.

The sound is real nice, and programming kits to your liking is super easy. I've got some recording equipment and I have recorded some drum beats and you'd never tell it was an electric set. The drum pads also feel very much like an acoustic set

All I can say is this is a winner for me. If you are just getting started it's a perfect starter set or if you are a seasoned pro but can't have a loud acoustic set in your garage anymore and don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a name brand electronic set go for this one.

Summary: SME-359 , DD 502 Singing Machine from sams club
Comment: This product is sold with many names SME-359, DD 502 and couple more which, currently I do not remember. I purchased SME-359 in Sams club in November 2006. It worked well for 6 months and the module died one fine day. Luckily I had Sams club extended warranty. So I got my money back minus taxes and extended warranty.

Cons: Drum pads are loud, you have to really increase the volume of the headphones to override the sound from the pads. Drum pads eventually dent which is only a cosmetic issue anyway.

If the module wouldn't have broken I would have given 5 stars. I purchased dd 502 module in ebay last week for $140.

Overall its a good buy for beginners and its cheaper is Sams club. Dont forget to purchase extended warranty. Its not much , its only 40 bucks.

Summary: Impressive for the price.
Comment: I got this set two weeks before Christmas (actually a newer model). There was a demo unit set up at Sam's Club so I sat down to try it out. I don't know how long it had been set up but it looked well used. I was impressed by the sound quality, the quality of the components and the playability of the set. I got it home but didn't open it for three weeks. During that time I went to several music stores to check out the name brand electronics drum sets to have a point of reference to make a wise decision as whether to keep the set I bought or return it and buy a higher quality Roland, Yamaha or other name brand set. It was a no-brainer. I concur with the other post about the packaging. I was expecting a lot more assembly than there was. I was impressed. It took two of us about an hour to assemble and adjust. I also concur about the cymbals. They do have their hot spots. I don't know if that's any different that the name brand units. I'm having a friend, who has a high end Roland set, come over and evaluate this set. Whatever his verdict I know that at 1/3 the price of a low end Roland it's a win win situation and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Summary: Good Instrument - a little hard to set-up
Comment: I purchased this product for my 13yr old as a christmas present. I found the price to be good, but was a little worried after reading the reviews on other products. The drums arrived packed very neatly and securely - everything was included (even sticks!). We had to watch the DVD to set it up and that was still a little confusing because some of the pieces weren't the same (they are actually of better quality!). We finally called a band friend of ours to help with the electronic parts. The assembled set is to a full scale of the acoustic instrument. My son still is learning to use the control center - and we don't have any Midi or computer set up to it (yet). We have hooked it to external stereo speakers so we could hear him play, that worked out great, we just used a computer surround sound set. Overall we have been very pleased - the stability of the set is comparable to the much higher priced sets you would find at the instrument stores (1250.00 for the equivilent scale and set-up) and the sound quality is excellent. We haven't had any problems with double beats, etc as reviewed with other products, however he is just beginning so we'll see in the future how it holds up with a more knowledgeable player. The only thing we've noticed is that you need to hit the cymbals with an accurate stroke or the sound is muffled/dudded. Overall this set is great especially for a beginner! And the fact that i don't have to hear it all the time (Headphones) is truly saving my sanity...
